Because most of the X-men indeed live in this house, I've decided that instead of simply "applying for a house" because indeed living at the same house as another person would exclude said person from applying for a house, I've decided to create a "global application" of sorts for this X-mansion that indeed my character, Scott, calls home.
The X-Mansion is inherited property belonging to the X-man benefactor Charles Xavier. It has been in Xavier's family for approximately ten generations. The address has been reported in comic-verse consistantly as 1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Centre (Part of the town of North Salem), Westchester. The X-Mansion is the home to many of the mutants in comic book, and is first and solely a school to teach said mutants. The school motto is "Mutatis Mutandis." At first the school was introduced simply as "The Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters," but because many of the original X-men and most of the students there are indeed now adults, it is simply called "The Xavier Institute of Higher Learning."
The X-Mansion is protected by several forms of security, ranging from the gate out front, to detonator bombs, laser activity, and security video cameras. Also of course the X-Mansion is protected by the students, whom have undergone rigourous training in the school's sub-level. This sub-level is underground, and houses the danger room, medical facility, and Xavier's personal pride, Cerebro.
The X-Mansion is in the shape of an X. Notable rooms include the Danger Room and a room containing Cerebro. The Headmasters Office of Xavier is on the top floor. The basketball court is a popular hang-out; it was the site of a well-known basketball game in X-Men v2 #4 (January 1992) in which the X-Men used their mutant powers. Directly below the basketball court is the hangar, which houses many transportation vehicles, as well as aircraft such as the X-Men Blackbird. (The Blackbird SR-71 is one of 32 in existance. It was invented by the military as an invisi-plane, and contains cloaking sheilds, ESM-Emergency Systems Management, ISAR-Inverted Synthetic Apature Radar, and VTOL-Verticle Take-off and Landing capabilities).
